Join us this March for an exclusive Turley Cellars Experience in our intimate wine cellar, featuring wines presented by Larry Turley himself!

A Tennessee native raised on Southern farmland, Larry Turley developed a deep respect for the land from an early age. Initially pursuing medicine as an ER physician, his journey took an unexpected turn after moving to California in the 1970s. One fateful night, he discovered a camper on his property—none other than John Williams, soon-to-be winemaker at Spring Mountain. A shared bottle of wine led to friendship, then partnership, and in 1981, Frog’s Leap Winery was born.

Over time, Larry’s passion shifted toward crafting wines from Zinfandel and Petite Syrah, particularly from old-vine vineyards. In 1993, he founded Turley Wine Cellars, dedicated to preserving and restoring these historic vines, some dating back to the 1800s. Today, Turley produces 47 wines from over 50 vineyards, each one a testament to Larry’s love for old-vine winemaking.
